The National Weather Service is a fantastic weather website.  It offers detailed descriptions of weather and lists temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, pressure, dew point, visibility, and wind chill.  Most weather websites do not list all the above conditions making this website very valuable and easy to understand the weather.  Another thing that makes this website unique is that it displays the watches and warnings for the entire United States on the front page by county.  This map is very useful when watching the weather.

Accuweather is another great website for weather.  However, one thing it lakes compared to the National Weather Service is that does not list the wind chill.  The wind chill is a very important aspect of weather especially when living in the Midwest.  Accuweather does offer detailed maps that show weather patterns in color and directions.  When wanting a map of severe weather I would choose Accuweather.

The Weather Channel is probably the most popular website for tracking weather. However, it does not include specific details about the weather as accuweather and the National Weather Service do.  However, The Weather Channel does offer great current weather maps, as in maps of high and low pressure fronts, wind chills, wind speed and direction, and temperature change to name a few.  I love the current surface map as seen in figure 1 below.

Just like the National Weather Service and accuweather, weather underground offers detailed information of all aspects of weather.  What makes weather underground unique is that it shows a line graph of the 10 day forecast.  This graph lists temperature, chance of precipitation, and wind speed and direction.  Weather underground also allows users to look back at past temperatures month by month.

This website if fantastic, it allows for viewing of the United States in different Satellites.  It offers infrared, visible, and water vapor.  The water vapor map is great for tracking storms that could result in rain or snow.

This wind map is one of my favorite websites of all time.  It shows all wind patterns and speeds for the entire world.  When tracking storms or systems this wind map can be useful.

The Unisys surface map is a great way to track very accurate weather reports.  Unisys uses data reported from different stations around the United States.  The picture below is of the Mid West region.  The circle shows cloud cover, isobar shows wind speed and direction.  It also reports temperature, dew point, pressure, and any precipitation.

Unisys also offers weather reports in the form of struve charts.  These charts show temperature and dew point levels as they travel through the atmosphere.  These charts also show the chance of a thunderstorm with the LI index and if the air is stable or unstable with the KI index. You can navigate to different stations across the United States, this chart below is from Minneapolis.
