Monday: 4/6/15

7:00
Current Temperature: 42° F
Humidity: 71 %
Wind Direction: NE
Wind Speed: 21 mph
Sky Conditions:Overcast

The temperature has not changed much from last night, it is currently is 42°F with strong winds from the North East and a humidity of 71%.  The sky is overcast with stratus clouds, making it seems like rain is upon us.  I noticed earlier today, while driving to Eau Claire, a mixed sky.  Stratus clouds covered the sky, but there was also a few cumulus clouds sitting right below.  This could mean we are changing fronts.

There is a chance of rain tonight, but the water vapor map is showing that Eau Claire probably won't experience much.  The rain seems to be heading north and missing the central and southern parts of Wisconsin and Minnesota.  The national Doppler radar is showing rain just above the Twin Cities, but this is expected to remain north of Eau Claire, and hitting the towns of Spooner and Hayward.  A weather station in Western Minnesota, is reporting rain, which shows the Doppler radar is somewhat accurate.  The struve chart in figure 4, is showing the dew point and temperature are almost equal.  This could lead to rain but the water vapor map is different.

Tomorrow the weather will be very similar to today, a high of 43°F and a chance of rain around 40%.  If the water vapor index shows it keeping north expect little rain.

Figure 1: Surface data map is reporting high winds from the North East and rain in Western Minnesota

Figure 2: The National Doppler is showing rain in Central Minnesota, heading towards northern Wisconsin

Figure 3: Water vapor in the air is staying north of Eau Claire, predicting that
Eau Claire will not receive any rainfall tonight.

Figure 4: The struve chart from Minneapolis is showing almost equal temps from the dew point and temperature.
Rain may fall in Minneapolis
